Susan Ball was a registered nurse before practicing law, giving her unique insight into the legal matters facing a healthcare staffing company. As executive VP, general counsel and secretary, Ball is the primary legal advisor to Cross Country Healthcare Inc.’s CEO and board of directors. She also oversees corporate governance, securities matters, risk management, workers’ compensation, insurance, litigation, mergers and acquisitions, and leadership on certain operational matters. Ball leads the company’s acquisitions activity, most recently that of Advantage RN LLC, a healthcare staffing provider that deploys its nurses through managed service programs, vendor management systems and via direct relationships with hospitals. Cross Country is the third-largest healthcare staffing firm in the US.
