In response to IT talent shortages, Namita Tirath, chief customer officer at Pyramid Consulting, created GenSpark in 2019 to give minorities and women intensive IT training and a career path while providing diverse talent for clients. GenSpark now has 20-plus associates nationally and has graduated 20 cohorts and placed 200 graduates at Fortune 500 companies — with a quarter of new hires recruited being from disadvantaged groups. In 2020, Tirath spearheaded the development and implementation of a DEI recruiter training and certification program, after which certified recruiters at Pyramid Consulting participate in a DEI mentoring program.
