As CEO of Year Up Professional Resources (Yupro) and a 2022 SIA DE&I Influencer, Michelle Sims is powering a social mission to support underrepresented talent. Under her leadership, Yupro has seen 300% growth and earned a place on SIA’s Fastest-Growing US Staffing Firms list two years in a row. Sims shared her vision for closing the skills gap in a Forbes article, “A Commitment to Diversity Won’t Necessarily Move the Needle on Change.” Additionally, she secured a grant partnership with IBM SkillsBuild to offer no-cost, industry-recognized IT certifications to their talent community with the goal to upskill 1,000 workers in 2022.
