Melissa Byington joined CompHealth in 1997 and has been president of its locum tenens division since 2011. In early 2016, she became president of the National Association of Locum Tenens Organizations. CompHealth is the largest provider of locum tenens (temporary physicians) in the US, and its parent company, CHG Healthcare, is the second-largest healthcare staffing provider as well as one of the fastest-growing staffing firms in the US.
