Armed with a desire to create stable career paths for nursing professionals, Burgundi Kaija Herring, president of Focal Point Medical Staffing, has grown her business multiple times over. Since 2019, the Raleigh, North Carolina-based organization has consistently grown revenue to $7.8 million in 2021 from $1.6 million — and, in a period of shortage, helped provide over 2,000 jobs to healthcare professionals. Herring, who is also a member of the American Staffing Association and Black Nurse Entrepreneurs, strives to provide clients across seven states with quality care for their patients and job opportunities to certified nurses.
